Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid year, winning just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since spring of 2023.

The win also indicates he has achieved 21 titles at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair swapped breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour championship, took control to force a final set.

He rescued four early-game break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, he earned the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
