The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

The first season introduces a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
